	Die Richmond Supper Klub is a private dining Klub situated on Loop Street in “downtown” Richmond. Formerly a domestic residence and one of the oldest houses in town, it was built in the late 1830’s. In its heyday the house served as a dormitory for farm girls who were studying at the local school. Membership of the Klub is made up of local farmers, N1 travellers and even overseas visitors. Visitors to Richmond who may wish to dine at the Klub may take out an inexpensive “country membership” which will give them entry whenever they are in town. Isn’t it ironical that Johannesburg city dwellers are country members of a Klub in one of the most remote of villages in the country! Any member may be called upon to be bartender for the evening or to wait on tables. It’s that sort of Klub. The Supper Klub offers guests the best lamb choppies in the Karoo as well as the finest fillets imaginable, all cooked over an open grill, by one of the local farmers who is on grill duty that evening. In addition the RSK produces in its wood fired oven, what have been described as the best pizzas in SA let alone the Karoo. There are usually a few pasta dishes, a lasagna and a casserole on the menu. All meals come with a complimentary flagon of house wine. In addition to a member’s dining room the Klub offers a smaller more intimate dining room suitable for private functions and families! The Klub is available for private dinners, receptions and other functions. The pub, also manned by local lads, opens onto the back courtyard and is the weekend “local” of the farming community. Leading from the cobble stone courtyard is the old former stables which houses the wine cellar. From 2006 DRSK will be bottling its own wines under the label “Babe Wine”. The Klub has a “Gentleman’s Smoking Room” and library, which houses a wonderful collection of Africana books, which may be read on the premises but not removed.
