The homestead and outbuildings date back to the 1800's and reflect the typical Klein Karoo architectural style. They have been gracefully restored to their original splendour, and equipped with all modern conveniences.Our dining room reflects our warmth and hospitality, and overlooks the sparkling swimming pool. The picturesque Schoemanshoek Valley provides a breathtaking backdrop.

From Cape Town / Winelands the fastest roure would be the R62 via Worchester, Robertson, Montague, Barrydale, Ladysmith, Calitzdorp and then Oudtshoorn. This is app a 5hour drive (6hours if you are going to stop a bit) Turn left at the 3rd traffic light and take the R328 towards the Cango Caves. 12km out of town on the left hand side you will see the entrance (and official guesthouse sign) for The Thorntree Country House.
From Hermanus the fastest roure would be via the N2 through Calledon and Swellendam. Just Past Swellendam take the Tradouw Pass towards Barrydale and continue with the R62 to Ladysmith, Calitzdorp and then Oudtshoorn. This is app a 4hour drive (5hours if you are going to stop a bit) Turn left at the 3rd traffic light and take the R328 towards the Cango Caves. 12km out of town on the left hand side you will see the entrance (and official guesthouse sign) for The Thorntree Country House.
From Plettenberg Bay (2.5hrs) or Knysna (2hrs) take the N2 to George. Take the 1st turnoff into George and continue straight through town. Continue with the N12 over the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn. Just drive straight through Oudtshoorn and continue with the R328 towards the Cango Caves. 12km out of town on the left hand side you will see the entrance (and official guesthouse sign) for The Thorntree Country House.
