Blue Hill Escape is a family owned accommodation establishment and research station on a 2300 hectare mountain fynbos reserve, in the Kouga Mountains in the Western Cape. The property lies to the west of the Baviaanskloof Wilderness area and shares two borders with the reserve.
We offer various accommodation options to suit a variety of people, such as bed and breakfast in the main house, in our lovely double and twin rooms. A spacious communal lounge with fireplace and an extensive library are available for guests to enjoy. Additional meals can be booked.
We also have three self-catering options available: Swartberg Flat with double bedroom, lounge with sleeper couch, fully-equipped kitchen area, and bathroom with bath and shower. Baviaans Cottage has a twin bedroom, lounge with fireplace, kitchen, and a bathroom with shower. Baviaans does not have electricity and all appliances are gas-powered. Kammanassie is a large open-plan family room with double bed, one bunk bed, lounge area, kitchenette, and bathroom with shower. Access to braai area in the garden.
Activities on the property and in the surrounding area include hiking, mountain biking, bird watching, wildlife watching, expert-led walks, visits to San Caves, the Baviaanskloof, or a working farm.
