Over 3 days, competitors will endure 115 kilometers of varied terrain: single track, cattle track, district roads and swamp trails. The focus of the event is not only an opportunity to enjoy Umngazi’s warm hospitality & cycle the most beautiful coastlines; but also to assist in making a difference to our local community’s neediest learners.

Nieu-Bethesda Fossil Tour

14:00 | Bruce, who grew up on Wellwood farm, near Nieu-Bethesda, is a world renowned palaeontologist, specialising in vertebrate fossils from the Karoo. He is also a director of the Karoo Devlopment Foundation. The Kitching Fossil Exploration Centre, an important tourist attraction in the Camdeboo, is a Wits University outreach project, training and employing local people as guides

Full Moon Fun Walk or Run

5 – 6pm | The 12km route begins in the Village of Nieu-Bethesda, exiting the village on the Graaff-Reinet road before heading up the pass towards Riverdene farm for 6km. It is a dirt farm road and appropriate footwear must be worn. Participants will then have their arms stamped at the turnaround point, before heading back along the same route, as the moon rises. The event will end at the tennis club where a light meal will be served with a cash bar available.

She is an experienced artist and art teacher from Stellenbosch and will be giving tuition to beginner and advanced students. Students may work in acrylic, oil, watercolour or any drawing materials whilst being inspired by the beautiful Karoo scenery.
