Koffylaagte Game Lodge

Koffylaagte acquired its name from being a regular stop on the old wagon route inland from Port Elizabeth and UItenhage.  The original farmstead, dating from the 1870's, is now the main accommodation on the Koffylaagte private reserve.

Koffylaagte is located within the bounds of the expanding Addo Elephant National Park and has been systematically restored to 1,800 hectares of natural flora and fauna with all traces of the former farming days removed.  To-day it is dedicated to wildlife management.

Home to twenty species of South African antelope as well as both larger and smaller mammals, not to mention birds and reptiles as well as plants such as Cycads and Elephant's Foot.

Accommodation at Koffylaagte comes in three variants :

The old farmstead

This contains two self catering or full board suites.  Each suite has two bedrooms as well as lounge/dining room and a fully equipped kichen.  A natural choice for a family or a group travelling together.

Hunting Lodge

This has altogether five bedrooms, three en-suite and two sharing a bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, bar, indoor braai, dining area and games room.  This can also be taken as either full board or self catering.

Nyala Valley Safari Tents

For a true bush experience three very comfortable safari tents with private wooden decks not far from the main dwellings but are isolate in bush, enjoying lovely views of the valley and good game viewing.
