The Karoo Lamb Restaurant will be hosting the duo 'Rouge' on Friday the second of September. Join us for an evening of nostalgic love songs and a delicious plate of Ian Allemann's famous Potjie for only R70! There is no cover charge but a hat will be passed.
“Rouge” is the colour red in French. This Nostalgic duo set was born a little more than a year ago when, Inè Reynierse (Sophie) & Natasja Engelbrecht (Murielle) decided to combine their love for theatre, languages, music & a bit of whimsical vintage. The outcome … a very heart-warming, theatrical trip down memory lane simply called ROUGE.
If you want Nostalgic love songs spiced with a bit of pizazz & some European flair, you need to attend a Rouge show. They are two women who love using the gifts they've been given to see people fall madly in love all over again. It’s a thrill for them to create smiles on peoples faces through the presence of beautiful love songs from the classic by gone days. Their shows are a interactive, multi media collaboration of back in the day film clips, sultry Spanish rhythms, six shooters, feather boas & vintage clothes... It all adds up to create a very unique & entertaining experience.
Influenced by the music & movies of: Audrey Hepburn, Louis Amstrong, Shirly Tempel, Edith Piaff, Doris Day, Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Marlena Dietrich, Dean Martin & Murielle Matthee, to name but a few. They sing French, German, Spanish, English & Afrikaans.
Rouge has been performing country wide and has done several collaborations with some of the country’s leading artists. Even though now based in the Garden Route, they have also lived & performed abroad.
They are currently working on their first Album: Rouge - the Nature of LOVE.
